w.c.) CFM Size 4 Size 5 Modulating Gas System The second system, the Maxitrol modulating gas system, consists of a temperature selector dial, a discharge air sensor, an amplifier, and a Maxitrol 14 modulating gas valve. The two types of Maxitrol systems used are the Maxitrol Amplifier14 series or the Maxitrol 44 series. The Maxitrol 14 utilizes a discharge air sensor and modulates the Maxitrol gas valve to provide discharge air to match the selected temperature on the temperature selector. The M
Refer to Table 9 for proper nozzle size, air settings and fuel pump pressure setting based on desired firing rate. If the desired firing rate is the lower GPH: a. replace the factory installed high firing rate nozzle with one of the loose lower firing rate nozzles. b. replace the factory installed head positioning bar with the corresponding head bar that matches the lower GPH nozzle installed, see Table 9. c. change the factory air settings according to Table 9 and, d. check the oil pump pressur
C. CLEANTHE FIREBOX. 1. Usingwireorfibrebristlebrush, cleancrown of boiler and inside of water legs. DO NOT allow brush to strike target wall or blanket in the combustion chamber. D. AFTER CLEANING, remove protective cloth with debrisand vacuum as necessary, but becareful not to damage blanket. Inspect target wall, combustion chamber blanket and burner mounting plate insulation for signs ofdamage. If damaged, replaceas needed. E. REASSEMBLE BOILER. CAUTION: Do not startthe burnerunless canopy, sm
i. Assure that all system radiators, piping and vents are absolutely leak tight. • When a steam boiler is installed in an existing system, ALL air vents should be replaced at the same time. This assures that the new boiler will not be compromised by existing system leaks. • If the system contains hidden supply or return piping (hidden behind walls, buried in concrete, etc.) pressure test this piping to assure there are no leaks. ii. Repair any leaks in the system. iii. Install accurate water met

Water Flow • Verify that the pool filter is clean to provide good flow. • Verify that valves are properly positioned to allow adequate water flow through the unit. Time Clock Adjustment Verify that the time clock is set to permit the unit to run long enough to heat properly. Fault Code Meaning of Code OFF The desired programmed temperature point is lower than 60°F (15°C). LP ! LP3 Shortage of refrigerant gas in the unit or faulty low pressure control. The unit will show (LP3) after 3 LP faults a

Freeze Protection If the unit is installed in a location subject to freezing conditions, it is important to protect the water circuit from freezing, just as should be done for the pump and filter. System Drain-Down 1. Turn the unit circuit breaker or disconnect switch to OFF. 2. With the pool pump OFF, close the external shutoff valves and loosen the inlet and outlet water unions to allow water to drain. Use a Wet/Dry Vac or air pressure to remove excess water. 3. Loosely re-attach the unions. 4
Always satisfy applicable codes and standards. • In sizing power wiring, be especially aware of up- sizing requirements necessary due to wiring distances. Always satisfy applicable codes and standards. • Electrical installation should be done by a licensed electrician only. This unit is pre-wired to work with external control systems, heat-on-demand options and other external time clock overrides. Refer to the external control system’s instructions, and page 19 of this manual, for installation i
