.CHARGE............................... Thank you for your purchase of an MH-23 Quick Charger for Nikon EN-EL9 re charge able lith i um-ion batteries. Before use, read the warnings and other in for ma tion in this manual and in the doc u men ta tion provided with the battery. Keep this manual where it will be read by all those who use the product. 3 Insert the battery (Figure 2-b). The orange CHARGE lamp will blink as the battery charges. Charging is complete when the CHARGE lamp stops blinking. 4 When charging is complete, reverse the above steps to remove the battery (Fig ure 2-c) and unplug the charger. Charge batteries before use. • Do not use the battery at ambient temperatures below 0 °C (32 °F) or above 40 °C (104 °F). During charging, the temperature should be in the vicinity of 5–35 °C (41–95 °F). For best results, charge the battery at temperatures above 20 °C (68 °F). • Do not attempt to recharge a fully-charged battery. Failure to observe this precaution will result in re duced battery performance. • Should you notice smoke or an unusual smell coming from the charger, unplug it immediately, taking care to avoid burns, and take it to a Nikon-authorized service representative for inspection. Recharging Batteries (Figure 2) 1 Plug the AC adapter plug into the battery charg er (Fig ure 2-a). 2 Plug the wall plug into a power outlet. . IMPORTANT: The in ter nal temperature of the bat tery may rise while the bat tery is in use, es pe cial ly when the ambient temperature is high. Wait for the battery to cool be fore charging. The battery will either not charge or charge only partially while hot. Attempting to charge the battery while the internal temperature is elevated could impair battery performance. • Do not use this product with non-compatible batteries. • Remove the power cable from the power outlet when not in use.
