Connecting your TV to a component video-compatible DVD player (such as a Toshiba DVD player with ColorStream®) can greatly enhance picture quality and performance. To record (dub/edit) from VCR 1 to VCR 2, the TV must select VIDEO 1 (see page 16), and VCR 2 must select LINE IN. For better picture quality, if VCR1 has S-video, you can use an S-video cable (plus the standard audio cables) instead of the standard video cable. If you have a Toshiba VCR or cable TV converter: Your TV remote control is already programmed to operate it. See page 12. If you have a non-Toshiba VCR or cable TV converter: You must first program your remote control so it will operate the other equipment. See pages 12–14. Installing the remote control batteries 1 Slide the battery cover off the back of the remote control. Caution: Dispose of batteries in a designated disposal Press and slide to remove. area.
