1 Press TIMER. The “Timer List” display appears. When all of the timer settings are not visible on the display, press M/m to view the hidden timer settings. 2 Select the timer setting you want to check/change/cancel, and press ,. The sub-menu appears. 3 Select an option, and press ENTER. “Modify”: Changes the timer setting. Select an item using while the list is displayed. b Notes • When “VPS/PDC” is set to “On” for one or more timer recordings, the start times may change in the event of a broadcast delay or early start. • Even if the timer is set, timer recordings cannot be made while recording a programme that has priority. Recording from Connected Equipment Recording from connected equipment without a timer HDD +RW RWVR RWVideo +R RVR RVideo You can record from a connected VCR or similar device. To connect a VCR or similar device, see “Connecting a VCR or Similar Device” on page 29. 1 Press HDD or DVD. If you select DVD, insert a recordable DVD (see “1. Inserting a Disc” on page 34). 2 Press INPUT to select an input source according to the connection you made. The front panel display changes as follows: programme position 3 Select the desired audio signal when recording a bilingual programme to the HDD or DVD+RWs/DVD+Rs/ DVD-RWs/DVD-Rs (Video mode). Set “External Audio” to “Bilingual” and “Bilingual Recording” to “A/L” or “B/ R” in the “Audio In” setup (page 123). 4 Press REC MODE repeatedly to select the recording mode. For details about the recording mode, see page 147. 5 Insert the source tape into the connected equipment and set to playback pause. 6 Press z REC. This recorder starts recording. 7 Press the pause (or play) button on the connected equipment to cancel the playback pause status. The connected equipment starts playback and the playback image is recorded by this recorder. To stop recording, press x REC STOP on this recorder. If you connect a DV camcorder with a DV IN jack See “DV Camcorder Dubbing” on page 91. If you connect an HDD camcorder with a USB jack See “HDD Camcorder Dubbing” on page 87. b Notes • When recording a video game image, the screen may not be clear. • Any programme that contains a Copy-Never copy guard signal cannot be recorded. • When “Bilingual Recording” is set to “A/L” or “B/R” in step 3, you cannot select the sound when playing in the following cases. – When recording to the HDD (“HDD Recording Format” is set to “Video Mode Off” in the “Recording” setup (page 128))/DVDRW/ DVD-R (VR mode) in PCM mode. – When recording to the HDD (“HDD Recording Format” is set to “Video Mode On” in the “Recording” setup (page 128))/ DVD+RW/DVD+R/DVD-RW/DVD-R (Video mode). • You cannot select “L1” in step 2 if “LINE 1 In” is set to “Decoder” in the “Video In/Out” setup (page 123). Recording ,continued Recording from connected equipment with a timer (Synchro Rec.) (RDR-AT100/ AT200 only) HDD You can set the recorder to automatically record programmes from connected equipment that has a timer function (such as a satellite tuner). Connect the equipment to the LINE 1/DECODER jack of the recorder (page 31). When the connected equipment turns on, the recorder starts recording a programme from the LINE 1/DECODER jack. The recording destination is HDD only. 1 Press REC MODE repeatedly to select the recording mode. For details about recording mode, see page 147. 2 Select the desired audio signal when recording a bilingual programme. Set “External Audio” to “Bilingual” and “Bilingual Recording” to “A/L” or “B/ R” in the “Audio In” setup (page 123). For details about the bilingual recording, see page 57. 3 Set the timer on the connected equipment to the time of the programme you want to record, and turn it off. 4 Press down x REC STOP on the recorder for more than 3 seconds. The SYNCHRO REC indicator lights up in the front panel display and the recorder turns off. The recorder is ready to start Synchro-Recording. You can also set the recorder to stand by for Synchro-Recording by setting “Synchro Rec.” of “Timer Recording” to “Yes” from the System Menu. To cancel Synchro Rec before recording starts Press [/1.
