Kickstand Unfolding Your Trailer Steps 1 -4 1. Remove wheels from folded trailer. 2. Press the rubber cap in the center of the wheel and insert axle into axle tube. Pull firmly to ensure axle is engaged. 3. Pull out the kickstand. 4. Unfold the shelf. Unfolding Your Trailer Steps 5 & 6 5. Release the middle frame hinge by rotating the twist grip in the direction of the arrow. Then unfold the upper frame. 6. Release the upper frame hinge by rotating the twist grip in the direction of the arrow. Then unfold the tow bar. Folding Your Trailer Follow the steps on pages 3 and U in reverse order to fold the trailer. 1. To fold the shelf, first pull the release cable on the bottom and then pull the shelf toward the frame. 2. Store the wheels inside the folded shelf with the axle side of the wheels facing each other. Connecting Your Trailer to Your Bike 1. Attach the hitch to your seat post using the two M6 bolts provided. Adjust the height to ensure trailer does not contact bike wheel or accessories. 2. Attach the trailer to the hitch by rotating the latch to the right and dropping the flex connector onto the hitch pin. The latch will close automatically when the flex connector is fully seated. To disconnect the trailer, rotate the latch then lift the flex connector off the hitch pi Hold your bike upright to make it easier for the coupling to slide on and off the pin. Notes: 1. Hitch is compatible with 25mm to 32mm seat posts. 2. Use of this hitch with carbon fiber seat posts is not recommended. 3. If your legs rub on the sides of the hitch, lowering it can help. Figure 1 Loading Your Trailer There are many different ways to load your Travoy. Tie-down buttons are provided in eight places on the outside of the frame. These are intended to be used with swivel-lock buckles included on Travoy bags and accessories. Cargo straps and a basic tote bag are included with your trailer. Various additional bags and accessories are available for different styles and functions. However you load your trailer, it’s important to follow these guidelines: 1. Do not exceed a load of 60 lbs (27 kg). 2. Do not exceed 20 lbs [9 kg] in the upper portion of the trailer (above the middle frame hinge). 3. With the trailer loaded, the weight at the hitch coupling should be greater than 2 lbs (1 kg) but not exceed 8 lbs (3.6 kg). 4. Secure your load such that nothing touches the wheels and no loose items can fall out. Rules 1. DO NOT carry passengers. 2. DO NOT stand or sit on trailer. 3. Always comply with local vehicle traffic and lighting laws. It is the user's responsibility to ensure that the load is adequately secured for safe operation. A safe maximum speed is dependent on the trailer load, road conditions, traffic, condition of the towing bicycle, and the experience of the rider. It is the rider's responsibility to ensure that they maintain a safe speed for the trailer load, road conditions and traffic. Riding over rough terrain at high speeds with a loaded trailer can cause damage to the hinges. Before You Ride Check before each use: 1. Wheels are properly secured to the trailer 2. Tires are inflated to recommended pressure on tire side-wall 3. Hitch is properly secured to the bicycle A. Flex connector is properly secured to hitch 5. Hitch latch is closed 6. Load does not exceed 20 lbs in upper bag or 60 lbs for whole trailer 7. Load is tightly secured to trailer and all straps or cords are secured. 8. Weight of tow bar at hitch is greater than 2 lbs (1 kg] but does not exceed 8 lbs (3.6 kg) with trailer loaded 9. Bicycle is in proper working order Check monthly: • Inspect tow bar, hitch, frame tubing, flex connector and hardware for damage • Check that fasteners are secure • Inspect tires and wheels for wear and cracks Safety Guidelines Refer to the bicycle manufacturer's instructions to determine if the bicycle is suitable for towing a trailer. It is recommended that a qualified bicycle mechanic does a safety check of the towing bicycle before attaching the trailer. Prior to each ride, be sure the trailer does not interfere with braking, pedaling or steering of the bicycle. It is recommended that a rearview mirror be used on the bike. Always comply with local regulations when using the trailer on public roadways. Never ride a bicycle at night without adequate lighting. Obey all local legal requirements for lighting.
