See the chapter ‘Options menu’ on page 35-39 of the extended User Manual on CD-ROM for choosing the connection type (RGB or CVBS): For best video performance, select RGB (check the manual of your TV). If your TV goes blank after switching to RGB mode, then your TV does not suppor t RGB. In this case, select CVBS by keeping the GREEN key pressed for at least 4 seconds to activate the default video output settings. (SL300i needs to be switched on.) 2 Connect a stereo audio cable between the Audio L/R output (stereo) 2 of the SL300i and the audio input of your sound system. > Making this connection enables you to listen to audio playback through your sound system. ENGLISH 35 Chapter 12 - Options menu In the Options menu you can view and edit the settings of the SL300i. On the remote control, press the MENU button to enter the Options menu. Select a menu item by pressing 1, 2, 3, or 4, and select by pressing OK or 2. About Provides you with general information. 36 ENGLISH 12.2 Picture Menu The Picture Menu gives you access to display settings. See below for an over view. Color Settings Select a colour setting from the list (Personal, Soft, Animation, Rich, Natural). Brightness Adjusts the Brightness for the ‘Personal’ colour setting. Contrast Adjusts the Contrast for the ‘Personal’ colour setting. Saturation Adjusts the Saturation for the ‘Personal’ colour setting. TV Settings TV Shape The TV Shape you select must be suppor ted by movie. If not, the TV Shape settings will not affect the picture. Choose 4:3 pan-scan, 4:3 letterbox or 16:9 widescreen. (see below for an explanation) Video Output If your TV has an RGB enabled external input, choose Scart (RGB) for highest picture quality. Else, choose Video (CVBS). Advanced (TV Settings) For adjusting advanced settings like Horizontal and Vertical position, Gamma, Chroma Delay and Black Level. See the Glossar y on page 53 for an explanation. Leave these settings at their default values, unless you have an explicit reason for changing them. TV Shape Choose 16:9 Widescreen – if you have a widescreen TV. Choose 4:3 Letterbox – if you have a standard TV, and if you select to have black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. Choose 4:3 Pan-Scan – if you have a standard TV and if you select to have both sides of the picture trimmed to fit your TV screen. ENGLISH 37 12.3 Network menu The Network menu gives you access to network and wireless settings. See below for an over view. Note: If you just want to see what the settings are, open the Network/Wireless Info items and not the Config items. Network Type Select whether you want to connect to a Wireless network or to a Wired network. Network Config. Network Mode Choose DHCP for automatic network configuration by your network host. (preferred) Choose Static IP for manually entering a static network configuration. Choose Auto IP for automatic network configuration without a network host.
