Anleitung Zusammenfassung

In an operational chassis, an unused slot should be covered if it is not used for more than 2 minutes. 17 Software components Updating router software Before installing the OAP module, you must verify that the router is running MSR software version R2209P15 or greater and update the software, if necessary. You must install the correct software version for the router to recognize the module. 1. Visit the HP web portal at to check the version number of the latest module-compatible software. 2. Check the version number of the software installed on the router. Connect to the router CLI and use the following command: display version HP Comware Platform Software Comware Software, Version 5.20, Release 2209, Standard Copyright (c) 2010-2012 Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P. HP A-MSR30-40 uptime is 1 week, 0 day, 7 hours, 21 minutes If the router software is out-of-date, update it: To install new software, see HP MSR Software Release Notes. Upgrading the Hypervisor Downloading a new 5.x image Upgrading the ESXi v5.x host module using a CD/DVD requires a powered USB CD/DVD drive or a powered USB hub between the module and a USB CD/DVD drive. Using Linux 1. Using a USB drive with a minimum of 1 GB of storage, you’ll need to partition a large enough Windows 95 image and make it bootable. The following example shows the syntax to use with fdisk. Based on the number of storage devices you have on your development system, you should see either the USB drive enumerated as sdb or sdc, etc. 18 2. Format the first partition you created: mkfs.vfat -n BOOT -F 32 /dev/sdc1 mkfs.vfat -n BOOT -F 32 /dev/sdc1 3. Verify that your Linux distribution has syslinux installed and, if not, install it using yum or apt-get. Then, enter the following command in syslinux to make the USB drive bootable. syslinux -s /dev/sdc1 dd if=/usr/lib/syslinux/mbr.bin of=/dev/sdc #Note that this is sdc not sdc1 4. Mount your USB drive to the Linux distribution that you are working on and create a folder as shown in the following example: mkdir /mnt/usb mount /dev/sdc1 /mnt/usb 5. Transfer the image file to the Linux system to a folder called /iso: 6. Download the script file ks.cfg and the boot.cfg file 7. Loop mount the iso file to the folder /mnt/iso: mkdir /mnt/iso mount -o loop /iso/hpn-OAP-VMware-VMvisor-Installer- 5.0.0-469512.x86_64.iso /mnt/iso 8. Copy the contents from the /mnt/iso folder to the /mnt/usb folder cp -a /mnt/iso/* /mnt/usb 9. Extract hp-OAP-usb-script-file.zip and then move ks.cfg and boot.cfg to Linux distribution. 10. Copy ks.cfg and boot.cfg to the USB drive: cp ./ks.cfg /mnt/usb cp ./boot.cfg /mnt/usb ( This will overwrite the existing boot.cfg). 11. To perform the update while preserving the VMFS file system, modify the ks.cfg file shown in bold this example: vmaccepteula Accepts EULA rootpw P@ssw0rd Sets root Password install --firstdisk --overwritevmfs Installs on first disk and overwrites the VMFS filesystem upgrade --firstdisk --preservevmfs Upgrades the existing hypervisor but preserves the vmfs filesystem. install usb network --bootproto=static --ip=192.168.1.100 -- 19 gateway=192.168.1.1 --hostname=hpn-vmware -- device=vmnic1 --nameserver=192.168.1.1 -- netmask=255.255.255.0 network --bootproto=dhcp --device=vmnic1 reboot Reboots host after installation 12. Rename isolinux.cfg to syslinux.cfg: mv isolinux.cfg syslinux.cfg 13. Unmount the USB drive from the Linux distribution and use it to install the VMware vSphere Hypervisor on the HP MSR OAP module: unmount /dev/sdc1 unmount /dev/loop0 Using Windows and UNetbootin 1. If necessary, download the UNetbootin application from the Web. 2. Insert the USB drive into your PC and then start the UNetbootin application. 3. On the initial UNetbootin window, select Diskimage and then browse to the ISO image for the USB drive install. 4. Select your USB drive from the Drive list, and then click OK. UNetbootin will display the following progress window 20 5. If prompted whether it is OK to overwrite files, click Yes to All. D-9 Software Components Upgrading or Updating the Hypervisor 6. On the UNetbootin Installation Complete window, click Exit. 7. Browse the USB drive folder to see all the files in the folder. 8. Download the Custom files for scripted install. 9. Extract the hp-OAP-usb-script-file-xxx.zip files to the USB drive. 10. Add the ks.cfg file to the folder. 11. If prompted whether it is OK to overwrite files, click Yes to overwrite or copy. 12. Using your preferred editor, edit the syslinux.cfg file on the USB drive to reduce the timeout and to change the default boot option to the Installer as shown here in bold: default menu.c32 prompt 0 menu title UNetbootin timeout 5 #label unetbootindefault #menu label Default #kernel /ubnkern #append initrd=/ubninit -c boot.cfg label ubnentry0 menu label HPN-OAP-ESXi-5.0.0-424558-standard-Profile ^Installer kernel /MBOOT.C32 append initrd=/ubninit -c boot.cfg label ubnentry1 menu label ^Boot ...
