Anleitung Zusammenfassung

When you use an Ethernet cable to connect other devices, such as computers, switches or hubs, pin 1, 2, 3, and 6 of the 8-pin RJ45 connector are used to communicate with the connected devices. Pin1, 2, 3, and 6’s signals are converted by the MDI-X function, as shown in Table 2. Pin MDI-X Signals MDI Signals 1 RD+ TD+ 2 RD- TD- 3 TD+ RD+ 6 TD- RD- Table 2 Cabling The cable connection between the RNS5/8 and the attached devices (switches, hubs, workstations, etc.) must be less than 100 meters (328 ft.) long. Mounting Installation DIN-Rail Mounting The DIN-Rail clip is already attached to the RNS5/8 when packaged. If the DIN-Rail clip is not screwed on the RNS5/8, follow the instructions and the figure below to attach the DIN-Rail clip to the RNS5/8. 1. Use the screws to attach the DIN-Rail clip to the rear panel of the RNS5/8. 2. To remove the DIN-Rail clip, reverse step 1. Rear Panel of the RNS5/8 DIN-Rail Clip Follow the steps below to mount the RNS5/8 to the DIN-Rail track: 1. First, insert the upper end of the DIN-Rail clip into the back of the DIN-Rail track from its upper side. 2. Lightly push the bottom of the DIN-Rail clip into the track. 3. Check if the DIN-Rail clip is tightly attached on the track. 4. To remove the RNS5/8 from the track, reverse the steps above. Wall Mounting Follow the steps below to install the RNS5/8 with the wall mounting plate. 1. To remove the DIN-Rail clip from the RNS5/8, loosen the screws from the DIN-Rail clip. 2. Place the wall mounting plate on the rear panel of the RNS5/8. 3. Use the screws to tighten the wall mounting plate onto the RNS5/8. 4. Use the hook holes at the corners of the wall mounting plate to hang the RNS5/8 onto the wall. 5. To remove the wall mounting plate, reverse the steps above. Hardware Installation The following figure illustrates a typical application of RNS5/8 Industrial 5-port/8-port Ethernet Rail Switch. Installation and Testing 1. Take your RNS5/8 Industrial 5-port/8-port Rail Switch out of the package box. 2. Check if the DIN-Rail clip is attached to the RNS5/8. If the DIN-Rail clip is not attached to the RNS5/8, refer to DIN-Rail Mounting section for DIN-Rail installation. If you want to wall-mount the RNS5/8, refer to Wall Mounting section for wall mounting installation. 3. To place the RNS5/8 on the DIN-Rail track or wall, refer to the Mounting Installation section. 4. Pull the terminal block off the RNS5/8 and wire the power lines. Refer to the Wiring the DC Power Inputs section for how to wire the power inputs. 5. PWR1 and PWR2 dual power inputs can be connected to power sources simultaneously. When the primary power source fails (the default setting is PWR1), the system will automatically switch to the secondary power source (PWR2), preventing any power interruption. 6. Check the LED for PWR1 and PWR2 to make sure that your RNS5/8 is operating normally. 7. Use Category 5 straight through Ethernet cables with RJ45 connectors to connect network devices. 8. Connect one side of an Ethernet cable with a RJ45 connector to the RNS5/8’s Ethernet port (RJ-45 port), and the other side of the Ethernet cable to the network device’s Ethernet port (RJ-45 port). 9. Check the port status LED indicator (blinking green) on the RNS5/8 to see if the network connection is successfully established. [Note] If you are using DC IN power jack to supply power to the RNS5/8, please check the PWR LED 10. Power on the host, activate the Command Line mode, and ping the connected Ethernet device to see if it will respond. 10.1 To enable the “Command Line mode”, click on Run in the Start menu, type Command, and click on OK to continue. 10.2 Type ping 192.168.1.1 command to check the connection. Here we use IP address 192.168.1.1 as an example. 11. Repeat step 10 to make sure that the connection of each device connected to the RNS5/8 is successfully established. 12. Power on the host, activate the Command Line mode, and ping the connected Ethernet device by typing “ping –t 192.168.1.1” command to see if it will respond. 13. The parameter ”t” allows you to continue to ping the network device, as shown in the figure below. Before you continue, make sure that both PWR1 and PWR2 are successfully connected to power sources. When PWR1 fails, the LED for PWR1 will go out. At that point, you should notice that the ping command is still responding, this verifies that the redundant power input function is working correctly. 14. Exit the Command Line mode, and connect PWR1 power input. .Your RNS5/8 has been tested and the installation is complete. Trouble shooting .. Make sure you are using the correct VDC power supplies (12 to 48 VDC) or power adapters. Do not use power adapters with DC output over 48V. It will damage the device. .. Select Ethernet cables with specifications suitable for your applications to set up your system. Ethernet cables are categorized into unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) and shielded twisted-pair (STP) cables. Category 3, 4, 5 Ethernet cables are suitable...
