To connect external speakers, proceed as follows: 1 Plug one end of a speaker cable (1) into the headphone connector (2) i on the computer. 2 Plug the other end of the speaker cable to the external speakers (3). 3 Turn down the volume of the speakers before you turn them on. . Make sure your speakers are designed for computer use. Do not place floppy disks on the speakers; their magnetic field may damage the data on the disks. 79 79 nN Connecting peripheral devices Troubleshooting sound My speakers are not producing sound . The built-in speakers may be turned off. Press + or the S1 button (default assignment) to turn on the speakers. . The speaker volume may be turned to the minimum.
