After assembly, see operating section of this manual for proper fuel and engine oil recommendations. NOTE Any reference to right and left hand will be determined from behind the edger, in the operator's position. TOOLS REQUIRED: A (1) Adjustable Wrench. B (1) 7/16" Open End or Box Wrench. Make certain that all loose parts and literature are removed from carton before carton is discarded. 2. Place long shoulder bolts (A) through rear wheels. Next, place belleville washers (B) (crown side towards wheel) over shoulder bolts (A). LOÿV-ER HANDLE x OJUSTABLE ENCH FIGURE 2. FIGURE 4. 4 3. Place lower handle into slots on rear of frame. Line up holes in lower handle with holes in frame. Secure lower handle to frame with rear wheel shoulder bolts, lock washers (C) and hex nuts (D). See figure 4. An adjustable wrench and 9/16" wrench is required. Place short shoulder bolt (F) through front wheel. Place belleville washer (B) (crown side towards wheel) over shoulder bolt next to wheel. 5. Assemble front wheel to wheel bracket, figure 5. An adjustable wrench is required. See hRONT.WHEEL FIGURE 5. 6. Place upper handle in position over lower handle. Line up holes and secure with four carriage bolts (J), lock washers (K), and hex nuts (L). See figure 6. A 7/16" wrench is required. UPPER HANDLE *s ■ HEX NUTS (L)- LOCK WASHERS (K) LOWER HANDLE-*- FIGURE 6. 7. Extend throttle control to upper right hand side of handle. Line up center hole of throttle with center hole on handle. See figure 7. IDE CENTER HOLE OF THRO % '.V s FIGURE 7. 8. Place throttle control lever up through slot in handle cover. Secure throttle control and handle cover with hex screw (G) and hex lock nut (H). An adjustable wrench and 7/16" wrench is required. 9. Place clutch handle and clutch plate on left hand side of upper handle as shown in figure 8. Secure in place with hex screws (M) through clutch plate, handle cover and upper handle. Secure hex screws with hex lock nuts (H). An adjustable wrench and 7/16" wrench are required. 10. Place throttle control knob (I) on throttle control lever. Place one end of clutch rod into hole on clutch handle. Secure with cotter pin (N). See figure 9. 5 I FIGURE 9. 13. Place other end of clutch rod into hole on )ivot bracket assembly as shown in figure 10. Socure with cotter pin (N). FIGURE 10. CONTROLS Engine - One lever operates the choke, regulates the engine speed and stops the engine. Ref. no. 73. Depth Control Adjustment - The clutching and declutching of the belt is accomplished by moving the clutch handle. To declutch pull the hnndle towards you as you operate the edger. The farther you push the handle forward, the deeper the cut. To operate the clutch handle, move it to the left so the pin clears the clutch plate. Ref. no. 4.
