• Insert the tabs on the back edge of the front end into the slots in the vehicle. 8 • Insert two 1/4" x 11/4" screws inside of the battery compartment and into the front end of the vehicle. Tighten the screws. Battery Compartment TOP VIEW Bumper Front End 9 RIGHT SIDE VIEW • Fit the bumper onto the front end. 7 • Insert two #8 x 3/4" screws through the front end and into the vehicle. Tighten the screws. 11H0440pr-0920 ASSEMBLY F ASSEMBLY F 10 Bumper • Insert seven #8 x 3/4" screws into the bumper and tighten. Grille • Insert two #8 x 3/4" screws the top of the grille. Tighten the screws. 12 11 Bumper Grille • Fit the grille onto the bumper. • Push down to fit the tabs on the grille into the slots in the bumper. 13 2524 • Before applying the labels, wipe the surface of the vehicle with a clean, dry cloth to remove any dust or oils. • Place the labels exactly as shown in the illustration. • For best results, avoid repositioning a label once it has been applied to the vehicle. 12 H0440pr-0920 ASSEMBLY F ASSEMBLY F 14 Headlights • Fit the headlights (left and right) onto the bumper. 15 Headlights • Insert two #8 x 3/4" screws into the top edge of each headlight. Tighten the screws. 16 Doors • Fit the door pegs onto the holes near the front end of the vehicle. Hint: There is a left and right door. They are designed to be assembled one way. 17 Plates • Fit the large hole on the plates to the door posts. • Align the holes in the plates with the holes in the top side of the vehicle. 13H0440pr-0920 ASSEMBLY F 18 20 Radio Connectors Dash Connectors Windshield/Dash • Insert three #8 x 3/4" screws into each plate and tighten. Motor Harness Connector Dash 19 Connector Front Radio Connector BACK VIEW • Separate the radio and dash connector wires from the motor harness connector. • Position the motor harness connector towards the front of the vehicle and into the battery compartment. • Position the dash connector and radio connector wires toward the back of the vehicle. • Open the doors on the vehicle. • Place the windshield/dash on top of the front end of the vehicle. • Plug both dash connectors together. • Plug both radio connectors together. Hint: If the connectors do not fit together, do not force them. Simply turn one of them over and try again! 21 • Fit the tabs on the windshield/dash into the slots in the front end of the vehicle. Windshield/ Dash FRONT VIEW 14 H0440pr-0920 ASSEMBLY F A B 22 24 • Turn the vehicle over. • Wipe the steering column with a paper towel to remove any excess lubricant. • First, insert the straight end of the steering column down through the hole in the metal bar A ; then through the hole in the vehicle Steering Column Metal Bar Hole BOTTOM VIEW Vehicle Hole floor B ; and finally, out through the hole in the dash. • Insert four #8 x 3/4" screws into the base of the windshield/dash. Tighten the screws. Steering 23 Dash DASH VIEW • Insert two #8 x 3/4" screws into the sides of the windshield/dash. Tighten the screws. • Close the doors on the vehicle. 25 • Insert the curved end of the steering column through the hole in the steering rod. Steering Rod Column H0440pr-0920 15 ASSEMBLY F 26 Assembly Tool 28 DASH VIEW • Insert a #6 x 11/2" screw into the hole in the base of the steering wheel. Tighten the screw. • Insert a #8-32 x 3/4" screw through the hole in the end of the steering column. • Attach a #8-32 lock nut (rounded side out) on the end of the screw. • While holding the lock nut with the open end of the assembly tool, tighten the screw with a Phillips screwdriver. • Turn the vehicle upright. Steering Wheel 27 Steering Column BACK VIEW • While supporting the steering column in place, fit the steering wheel onto the end of the steering column. Hint: You may need the help of another adult to hold the steering column in place while you attach the steering wheel. 29 • Insert and "snap" the key assembly into the slot in the dash. Key Assembly 16 H0440pr-0920 Hood Tab Slot Hood Tab Slot ASSEMBLY F Loosen These Screws DASH VIEW • Locate the FM Radio/Simulated CD Player/Digital Clock on the dash. • Loosen both screws in the battery compartment door. • Remove the battery compartment door. • Insert four, new "C" (LR14) alkaline batteries. Hint: We recommend using alkaline batteries for longer life. • Replace the battery compartment door and tighten the screws. • When sounds become faint or stop, it’s time for an adult to change the batteries!
