All VCRs record the closed caption signal from TV programs, so home-recorded video tapesalso provide closed captions. Most pre-recorded commercialvideo tapes provide closed captions as well. Check for theclosed caption symbol in your TV schedule and on the tape’spackaging: CC . When you startusing the television for thefirst time, you must select thelanguage which will be usedfor displaying menus andindications. If you wish to continue viewing the poorpicture, you must set the Blue Screen to Off. R.Surf Feature (depending on the model) This feature allows you to setthe TV to return to a particularchannel after a certain amount of time. For example, you may bewatching a channel whencommercials start. You can set the R.Surf to “5 minutes”, then Surf 00: 29 switch channels.After minutes, the TV will return to the originalchannel. Press the R.SURF button on the remote control repeatedly toset the timer in thirty second intervals, up to five minutes. Picture -Mode • Mode: Dynamic / Standard / Movie / Custom You can select the typeof picture which bestcorresponds to your viewingrequirements. Move Enter Return Mode Mode : Dynamic > Contrast : 00 Brightness : 50 Sharpness : 75 Color : 50 Tint : G 50 R 50 Colour Tone : Cool > Reset > • Contrast / Brightness / Sharpness / Color / Tint (NTSC only) The TV has several settings which allow you to control thepicture quality. • Color Tone: Cool2 / Cool / Normal / Warm / Warm2You can change the color of the entire screen according toyour preference. • Reset You can retum to the factory defaults. The reset function is set for each mode (Dynamic, Standard, Movie, or Custom). Picture -Digital NR / DNIe Jr (depending on the model) • Digital NR If the signal received bythe television is weak, youcan activate this feature to reduce any static andghosting that may appear on Move Enter Exit the screen. • DNIe Jr If the signal received by the television is weak, you canactivate this feature to reduce any static and ghosting thatmay appear on the screen. Mode : Dynamic > Digital NR : Off > DNIe Jr : Off > Picture English - 5 Sound -Mode / Adjust / Auto Volume / Turbo Sound (depending on the model) • Mode : Standard / Music / Movie / Speech / Custom You can select the type ofspecial sound effect to beused when watching a givenbroadcast. Sound Mode : Custom > Adjust > Auto Volume : Off > Turbo Sound : Off > Move Adjust Return • Adjust : Bass / Treble / Balance The television has several settings which allow you tocontrol the sound quality. . If you make any changes to these settings, the sound mode is automatically switched to “Custom”. • Auto Volume Each broadcasting station has its own signal conditions, and so it is not easy to adjust the volume every time thechannel is changed. This feature lets you automaticallyadjust the volume of the desired channel by lowering thesound output when the modulation signal is high or byraising the sound output when the modulation signal is low. • Turbo Sound This feature suitably emphasizes both higher and lower bands of sound (and includes other effects). You can enjoy more magnificent and dynamic sound when watchingmusic, movie, or other channels. Sound -MTS (Multi-channel Television Sound) (depending on the model) Depending on the particular program being broadcast, you cannot listen to “Mono” or“Stereo”.
