The SIM card and its contacts can be easilydamaged by scratches or bending, so becareful when handling, inserting, orremoving the card. 1 Open the back cover, and remove it. © 2010 Nokia. All rights reserved. Get started Remove the battery. Open the SIM card holder. Insert theSIM card into the holder with the beveled corner facing down and thecontact surface area facing towardthe contacts of the device. The side with the beveled corner fits below the rim of the device. Close the SIM card holder. Line up the battery contacts, andinsert the battery. 5 Place the battery cover on the phone, ensuring that the hooks at the upperpart of the cover are aligned with thecorresponding recesses on the device. Slide the back cover to close it. Insert and remove the memory card Use only compatible microSD cardsapproved by Nokia for use with thisdevice. Nokia uses approved industrystandards for memory cards, but somebrands may not be fully compatible withthis device. Incompatible cards maydamage the card and the device andcorrupt data stored on the card. Your device supports microSD cards witha capacity of up to 8 GB. Get started Insert the memory card 1 Connect the charger to a wall outlet. 1 Switch the device off, and remove theback cover and battery. 2 Slide the memory card holder inwardsto unlock. 3 Open the SIM card holder, and insertthe SIM card into the holder with the contact surface facing down. 4 Close the card holder, and slide it tolock. 5 Replace the battery and back cover. Remove the memory card 1 Remove the back cover and the battery. 2 Open the memory card holder, andremove the memory card. Close theSIM card holder. 3 Replace the battery and back cover. Charge the battery Your battery has been partially charged atthe factory. If the device indicates a lowcharge, do the following: 2 Connect the charger to the device. 3 When the battery is fully charged, disconnect the charger from thedevice, then from the wall outlet. You can also charge the battery with a USBcable, using power from a computer. 1 Connect the USB cable to a USB port ofa computer and to your device. 2 When the battery is fully charged, disconnect the USB cable. If the battery is completely discharged, USB charging may not work. Use thecharger instead. You do not need to charge the battery fora specific length of time, and you can usethe device while it is charging. If thebattery is completely discharged, it maytake several minutes before the chargingindicator appears on the display or beforeany calls can be made. Get started GSM antenna Headset Warning: When you use the headset, your ability tohear outside sounds may be affected. Donot use the headset where it can endanger your safety. Your device may have internal andexternal antennas. Avoid touching theantenna area unnecessarily while theantenna is transmitting or receiving.
