• Protect your furniture when placing your unit on a natural wood and lacquered finish. A cloth or other protective material should be placed between it and the furniture. • Clean your unit with a soft cloth moistened only with mild soap and water. Stronger cleaning agents, such as Benzene, thinner or similar materials can damage the surface of the unit. Open the battery compartment cover located inside the unit. 2. Insert 5 “AA” (LR6) batteries, checking the + and – ends of the batteries match the drawings inside the battery compartments. We recommend the use of alkaline batteries for longer life. Different Battery Compartment types of batteries or new and used batteries are not to be mixed. 3. Close the battery compartment cover. NOTE: Unit will not charge iPod/iPhone while operating on battery power Battery Information • Do not mix old and new batteries. • Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable batteries. • Make sure you dispose of batteries properly (see your local regulations). Installing/Replacing Backup Battery The iP38 uses a backup battery system to provide continuous alarm operation and clock settings in the event of a power failure. The backup battery is included. If the Backup Battery Low Icon (located on the upper left of the display) is flashing, it is time to replace the backup battery. Please make sure the AC adaptor is connected, otherwise all settings may be lost during battery replacement. Open the backup battery compartment cover located inside the main battery compartment.
