During a power failure The base unit will work as a standard telephone using power from the telephone line, so you can make and answer outside calls with the corded handset. However, this operation may not work properly depending on area or telephone line’s condition. The base unit speakerphone and the cordless handset will not function during a power failure. Note for battery installation R Use the supplied rechargeable batteries. For replacement, we recommend using the Panasonic rechargeable batteries noted on page 4, 5. R Wipe the battery ends ( , ) with a dry cloth. R Avoid touching the battery ends ( , ) or the unit contacts. Note for battery charging R It is normal for the handset to feel warm during charging.
