Charging light The red light comes on to indicate charging when the handset is on the base. Skip backward Lets you skip backwards through your messages and memos, see page 46. Volume buttons Use to adjust the base unit loudspeaker volume, see page 37. Page button Press to page the handset, see page 23. Answer on/off button Switches the answering machine on and off, see page 36. Also, allows you to check or play your outgoing message, see page 42. Battery icon – to indicate battery low. Directory icon * Telephone icon – flashes to indicate that new calls have been received in the Calls list. * BT 1571 icon – indicates that the 1571 voice mail detection feature is switched on. Flashes to indicate new voice mail messages have been received. Keypad lock icon – indicates that the keypad lock feature is switched on. Answer machine icon – indicates that the answering machine is switched on.
