To prevent fire or shock hazards, do not expose this unit to rain or moisture. Warning Warning This product utilizes a Class 1 laser to read compact discs. This laser compact disc player is equipped with safety switches to avoid exposure when the CD tray is open and the safety interlocks are defeated. Invisible laser radiation is present when the CD player's tray is open and the system's interlock has failed or been defeated. It is very important that you avoid direct exposure to the laser beam at all times. Do not attempt to defeat or bypass the safety switches. Any use of the controls or an adjustment to the procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation. To reduce the risk of fire, do not place any heating or cooking apparatus beneath your radio. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. To prevent electric shock, match the wide blade on the power cord plug to the wide slot in the electrical outlet, and fully insert the plug. NS-C2114 Under-Counter Clock Radio Feature Description 3 DC jack Connect the optional cigarette lighter power adapter into this jack on the back of your radio. 4 PROG./MEM. button Press to program radio station presets. For more information, see “Programming radio station presets” on page 11. 5 FM ST. button When listening to an FM station broadcast in stereo, press this button to switch between STEREO and MONO. 6 FUNCTION button Press to select the play mode. You can select: • WB–Weatherband radio • CD–CD player • TUNER–Radio • AUX–External audio device 7 OPEN/CLOSE button Press to open and close the CD tray. 8 Battery compartment Insert two AAA batteries into this compartment. Your radio uses the batteries to save your settings when your radio is not connected to another power source. You cannot use the batteries to power your radio. 9 VOLUME buttons Press to increase or decrease the volume. 10 EQ button Press to select the equalizer mode. You can select CLASSIC, JAZZ, ROCK, or POP. 11 MEM UP button Press to go to a higher preset station. 12 MEN DN button Press to go to a lower preset station. 13 REPEAT button Press to repeat a CD track or an entire CD. 14 PLAY/PAUSE button Press to pause CD playback. Press again to resume playback. 15 STOP/BAND button If you are listening to a CD, press to stop playback. If you are listening to the radio, press to select the AM or FM band.
