Volume Control 9. Set Button (Clock) 5. Tuning Knob POWER SOURCE This AM/FM Shower Radio operates on 4 X ‘AA’ size (UM-3) batteries (3 pi 1. Unlock and remove the Battery Door (#2) as shown in above diagram. 2. Following the polarity diagram (+ and -) as shown inside the battery compartment, insert 4 X ‘AA’ size (UM-3) batteries (not included). 3. Close the Battery Door (#2) and lock the Battery Door again. IMPORTANT: Be sure that the batteries are installed correctly. Wrong polarity may damage the unit. 4. For better performance and longer operating time, we recommend the use of alkaline-type batteries. 5. (a) Do not mix old and new batteries. (b) Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries. 6. If the unit is not to be used for an extended period of time, remove the batteries. Old or leaking batteries can cause damage to the unit and will void the warranty. 7. Do not dispose of batteries in fire, batteries may explode or leak. SETTING THE TIME OF CLOCK When battery is first installed, press the Set Button (#9) to start running the clock. 1. In current time mode, press the Mode Button (#8) four times. Hour is displayed. 2. Press the Set Button (#9) until the correct hour is displayed. 3. Press the Mode Button (#8) again. Minute is displayed. 4. Press the Set Button (#9) until the correct minute is displayed. 5. Press the Mode Button (#8) to finish setting. 6. Press the Set Button (#9) to start the clock. SETTING THE DATE OF CLOCK 1. In current time mode, press the Mode Button (#8) twice. Month is displayed. 2. Press the Set Button (#9) until the correct month is displayed. 3. Press the Mode Button (#8) again. Date is displayed. 4. Press the Set Button (#9) until the correct date is displayed. 5. To return to clock mode, push the Mode Button (#9) three times. RADIO RECEPTION 1. Turn on the unit by rotating the Volume Control (#4) clockwise until a "click" is heard. 2. Set the Band Selector (#6) to "AM" or "FM" for the desired radio band. 3. Turn the Tuning Knob (#5) to select the desired radio station. 4. When tuning in AM reception, be sure to place the unit in a vertical position. To insure maximum AM sensitivity, try repositioning the unit until the best reception is obtained. 5. Adjust the Volume Control (#4) to obtain the desired sound level. 6. Turn off the unit by rotating the Volume Control (#4) fully counterclockwise until a "click" is heard. CAUTION Your AM/FM Shower Radio has been constructed to resist mild steam and light splashes from the shower or bath only. It should not be operated under running water and under no circumstances should it be fully immersed in water. CARE AND MAINTENANCE 1. Clean your unit with a damp (never wet) cloth. Solvent or detergent should never be used. 2. Avoid leaving your unit in direct sunlight or in hot, humid or dusty places. 3. Keep your unit away from heating appliances and sources of electrical noise such as fluorescent lamps or motors. 4. Your unit has rubber seals to minimize the risk of moisture getting inside. However, do not immerse it in water since permanent damage to the electrical and mechanical parts will result. -1 5. Always clean the outside of the cabinet thoroughly if it becomes wet with moisture or water splashes. This will help to prevent the internal parts of the unit from entry of water and possible moisture damage. COMPLIANCE WITH FCC REGULATIONS This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Radio Receiver, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: -Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. -Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. -Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. -Consult the dealer or an experienced radio technician for help. When returning the unit, please remove batteries to prevent damage to the unit in transit and/or from possible battery leakage.
