Keep small parts away from children when assembling. /Si INSTRUCTION MANUAL_ DAY AND NIGHT HANDHELD COLOR VIDEO MONITOR™ Thank you for buying the 900 MHz Day and Night Handheld Color Video Monitor™ from Summer Infant. This is a truly portable unit that allows parents to see as well as hear their baby while moving around the house. It's ideal for checking on baby without waking him or her. There are also more traditional sound lights that visually show baby's level of activity if parents simply choose to listen. Nighttime LED's on the camera make the baby fully visible both day and night. The portable parents unit has rechargeable batteries plus an AC adaptor and offers a belt clip for extra convenience. A CAUTION: KEEP SMALL PARTS OUT OF CHILD’S REACH. See page 12 for contact information if you should need to order replacement or additional products. QUICK SET UP Read the instruction manual for more detailed instructions and explanations. • Place Camera in nursery and position facing crib (do not place in crib or within child's reach). Tilt the Multi-Position Camera/Microphone so it is facing baby as much as possible (Figure A). Use Security Clips included to secure Camera's cord away from baby's reach (Figure B). Alternately, Camera may also be attached to a wall using wall anchor and screw (included) (Figure C). • Plug small AC Adapter into Camera's AC Adapter Jack and other end of cord into a standard electrical outlet. • Turn Camera on and select channel by setting the Channel Selector (A/Off/B) to channel A. • Position Handheld Monitor in the room from which you will monitor baby. Use 4.8V rechargeable battery (Ni-CD recommended) or plug AC Adapter into Handheld Monitor's AC Adapter Jack and plug the other end into a standard electrical outlet. • Turn Handheld Monitor on using Power On/Off/Volume Dial. Turn the Video on by pressing the Quick View/Video On/Off Button. Set Channel Selector to channel A. You should now be able to see a view of the nursery and hear any sounds in the nursery. • If the picture is not clear, try switching both the Camera and the Handheld Monitor to channel B. Sometimes a slight adjustment to the Camera, Monitor and Antenna can make a significant difference in reception. • Adjust the volume on the Handheld Monitor as needed. A BATTERY WARNING: • Use only the original battery pack. Warranty void if other batteries are used. Please contact Summer Infant, Inc. for a replacement battery pack. Contact information can be found on page 8 of these instructions. • Unplug the rechargeable battery pack pig tail when the product is stored for long periods of non-use. • Dispose of exhausted batteries properly. 2 A WARNING THIS PRODUCT CANNOT REPLACE RESPONSIBLE ADULT SUPERVISION. • Prevent cord entanglement - do not place Camera in crib or within arm’s reach of baby. Use enclosed Security Clips to help secure cords away from baby’s reach. Never use extension cords with AC adapters. Only use the AC Adapters provided. • When an AC Adapter is plugged into an electrical outlet, do not touch the exposed end. • Do not use monitor near water (such as bathtub, sink, etc). • Keep monitor away from heat sources (such as stoves, radiators, etc) and make sure there is proper ventilation (not on sofas, cushions, beds, etc which may block ventilation). • Nursery monitors use public airwaves to transmit signals. This monitor may pick up signals from other monitors or similar devices and signals broadcast by this monitor may be picked up by other receivers. • This product is not a toy. Do not allow children to play with it. • This product contains small parts. Adult assembly required. Exercise care when unpacking and assembling the product.
