This is needed to work around a bug that appears in some older versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer Java Virtual Machine. Contact your network administrator to set this up. For example: 192.168.13.13 should resolve to myswitch.mycompanyxxxx.com Where 191.168.13.13 is the switch’s IP address, and myswitch.mycompanyxxxx.com is the FQDN. Configuring Netscape Communicator 1. Verify that the Java support is enabled by selecting Edit > Preferences. 2. Click the Advanced Section and select Enable Java and Enable Java Script. 3. If you have problems viewing the configuration pages, use the Java Console to troubleshoot your problem. To view the Java Console, click Communicator > Tools > Java Console Configuring Microsoft Internet Explorer Before you can use Microsoft Internet Explorer to view the configuration pages, you must configure it. See section How to Verify Whether JVM Is Installed, in this appendix. 3 If JVM is not installed, install it. See section Enabling Unsigned Apples to Access the Network, in this appendix. 6 Enable Java Console and Logging. See section Enabling Java Console and Logging, in this appendix.
