If the prompt that is displayed contains a “PR” instead of an “HD,” the module has been booted to the Product OS: hostswitch(services-module-C:PR)# You can boot the module to the Product OS only after you install and activate DCM ONE. Enter the following command to ensure that no other product is installed on the ONE Services zl Module: hostswitch(services-module-C:HD)# show version Getting Started Initial Setup If a product is already installed, it will be displayed in the command output under the Product heading. You should uninstall it by issuing the following command: hostswitch(services-module-C:HD)# uninstall product Verify the Services zl Module OS Version The ONE Services zl Module must be running Services OS software version 1.0.081219 or above. To view the software version, complete the following steps: 1. From either the manager-level or the global configuration context of the host switch’s CLI, enter the following command to move to the Services OS context: hostswitch# services 1 2. At the Services OS prompt, enter the following command: hostswitch (services-module-C:HD)# show version The output shows the versions of all images stored on the module, both on the hard disk (HD) and compact flash (CF). The output should look similar to the following. -------------- ServiceOS ----------------J9154A ServiceOS version 1.0.081219 Description: HD Service OS Build Date: Nov 14 2008 18:24 Components: TOOLS.0.081219 HDSOS.0.081219 If a software update is needed, follow the instructions provided in ProCurve Switch ONE Services zl Module Installation and Getting Started Guide, available on the Web at Download and Install DCM ONE Software To download and install DCM ONE Software, complete the following steps.: 1. Download the DCM ONE Software from the following location: 2. On your USB drive, create the following directory: /services/images/ Getting Started Initial Setup 3. Extract the image file you downloaded and copy it to the /services/images/ directory on the USB drive. Make sure you retain the compressed file’s original directory structure. 4. Copy the image to the ONE Services zl Module. a. Establish a CLI session with the switch and enter the Services OS context. Hostswitch(config)# services 1 b. Insert the USB drive into the Service zl module’s USB port. c. Mount the USB drive: Hostswitch(services-module-C:HD)# usb mount d. Enter the following command: Hostswitch(services-module-C:HD)# usb copyfrom ? The output shows the file name(s) of any image(s) found on the USB drive. To save time and eliminate error when using the copyfrom command, type enough characters of the DCM ONE Software file name to uniquely identify it and then press the Tab key. For example: Hostswitch(services-module-C:HD)# usb copyfrom dcm The rest of the file name will be populated for you so you do not have to type in a long file name. e. Press Enter. The syntax of the copyfrom command is as follows: Syntax: usb copyfrom Copies the entire image directory into the /mnt/part/hd_data/ images/ directory on the module’s hard disk. f. Let the copy procedure complete. This might take several minutes. 5. Confirm that the image folder was correctly copied to the hard disk by entering the following command: Syntax: show images Displays complete file names of all software images stored on the module’s hard disk. The output should show the image file you downloaded and copied from the USB drive. Getting Started Initial Setup 6. Install the software. You can use the same shortcut with the install product command as you did with the USB copyfrom command. Type: Hostswitch(services-module-C:HD)# install product dcm The full file name is populated for you. Syntax: install product Installs the named image on the ONE Services zl Module. 7. Press Enter. You can monitor the installation progress on the console screen. 8. After the installation process is completed, confirm that installation was successful by entering the following command: Hostswitch(services-module-D:HD)# show version The output should show, in part, the following: -------------- Product ----------------J9446A DCM version 1.0.0 Description: Data Center Connection Manager Build Date: Feb 13 2009 12:30 Components: /boot /usr /tmp /home 9. Unmount the USB drive: Hostswitch(services-module-D:HD)# usb unmount Activate the DCM ONE Software Before you begin to use DCM ONE, you must activate the software by completing the following tasks. (Step-by-step instructions for each task are provided in the sections that follow.) 1. Register the DCM ONE Software on the My ProCurve portal (https://my.procurve.com). • Obtain the product registration ID and the activation hardware ID.
