This is extremely important to woodshops that cut thousands of board feed on a regular basis. Since the power feeder is typically positioned between the blade and the operator during operations, the operator’s hands do not need to get near the blade when feeding the workpiece, so the danger of an accidental cutting injury is greatly reduced. Additionally, the power feeder provides more consistent results than hand fed operations, because it moves the workpiece at an even speed and maintains consistent workpiece pressure against the table and fence throughout the cut. The power feeder works by simply attaching rubber rollers to a motor through a series of gears designed to control the roller speed. Since the rubber rollers must be positioned correctly to maintain even workpiece pressure against the table and fence, the power feeder is mounted on a stand that allows it to be moved and locked at infinite heights, angles, or rotations within range of the stand.
