For details, see “Adjusting the Document Settings” on page 2.6. 4 Press Phonebook. “Search & Dial” appears on the top line and then press Enter. 5 Press the scroll buttons. You can search downward or upward through the entire memory in the alphabetical order (from A to Z). While searching through the machine’s memory, you will see that each entry is preceded by one of three letters: “T” for one-touch dial, “S” for speed, or “G” for group dial number. These letters tell you how the number is stored. Or, press the button labelled with the letter you want to search for. A name beginning with the letter appears on the display. 6 When the desired number displays, press Enter. The document scans into memory. 7 If the document is placed on the scanner glass, the display asks if you want to send another page. Place the next page on the glass and select “Yes” if you have more than one page to send. If not, select “No”. The scanned page(s) will be sent immediately. Your machine automatically scans the document loaded in the document tray into the memory, and the machine will dial each of the numbers included in the Group. 4 NOTE: You can use only one group number for one operation. Then continue the procedure to complete the desired operation. AUTOMATIC DIALLING 4.9 Editing a Group Number You can delete a specific one-touch or speed dial number from a selected group or add a new number to the selected group. 1 Repeat steps 1 through 3 on page 4.7. 2 Press the scroll buttons until “Edit” displays on the bottom line and then press Enter. 3 Press the scroll buttons to scroll through the group entries. 4 Press Enter when you find the group you want to edit. 5 Press the scroll buttons to scroll through a specific speed dial number from the group and then press Enter. The display shows “Delete?” or “Add?” then press Enter. 6 Repeat steps 2 and 5 until you complete the changes. 7 Press Upper Level when you finish editing. If there is a name assigned to the group, the name appears in the upper line of the display. 8 Change the name if necessary, and press Enter. 9 The machine returns to Standby mode Printing Phone Book List The Phone Book list shows all of the numbers currently stored in the machine’s memory as one-touch dial, speed dial and group dial numbers. 1 Make sure that the machine is in the fax idle mode. If necessary, press Fax to enter the fax idle mode. 2 Press Phonebook until “Print” displays on the bottom line and then press Enter. The Phone Book list will be printed. 4.10 AUTOMATIC DIALLING 5 5 OTHER WAYS TO FAX The following topics are included: • Redialling • Delayed Sending • Priority Sending • Broadcast Sending • Batch Sending • Toll Save Sending • Polling Redialling To redial the number last called: 1 Press Redial/Pause. If a document is loaded in the DADF or on the document glass, the machine automatically begins to send. To search through the Redial memory: 1 Press and hold Redial/Pause for about 2 seconds. 2 The Redial memory in your machine retains the last 10 numbers called. If you have dialled the same number multiple times, the machine does not count the duplicates. 3 Press the scroll buttons to search through the memory until you see the number you want on the display. 4 Press Start to dial. If a document is loaded in the DADF, the machine automatically begins to send. NOTE: For documents scanned from the document glass, the display asks if you want to scan another page. Select “Yes” to add another page, otherwise select “No”. 5.2 OTHER WAYS TO FAX Delayed Sending You can set your machine to send a fax at a later time when you will not be present. 1 Load the document you want to send in the Duplex Automatic Document Feeder (DADF) or on the scan glass. See “Loading Document(s) for Faxing” on page 2.3. 2 Make sure that the machine is in the fax idle mode. If necessary, press Fax to enter the fax idle mode. 3 You can use Resolution, Original Type, Darkness and/or Duplex to choose the appropriate sending condition for the document. For details, see “Adjusting the Document Settings” on page 2.6. 4 Press Menu until “Fax Features” displays on the top line. 5 “Delayed Fax” appears on the bottom line and then press Enter. 6 Enter the number of the remote fax machine using the number keypad and then press Enter. Or, press Phonebook and enter the speed dial number or one-touch dial number. 7 The display asks if you want to enter another number. To enter another number, select “Yes” and repeat step 6. To send to one location or when you finish entering numbers, select “No.” 8 Enter a name for the job and then press Enter. You may skip this step. 9 The display shows the current time and asks you to enter the start time when the fax is to be sent. 10 Enter the time by using the number keypad. To select AM or PM for 12-hour format, press the Sharp 5 key( ). If you set a time earlier than the current time, the document will be sent at that time on the following day.
