Going away If the dishwasher is not going to be used for some time, carry out the following: • run a cycle with the dishwasher empty. • switch off at the electrical socket and unplug. • turn off the water supply tap, disconnect the inlet hose and allow to drain. •fill the rinse aid dispenser. •leave the door ajar, to prevent the build up of unpleasant odours inside the dishwasher. Before using the dishwasher after a long break, plug in and switch on at the electrical socket. Reconnect the inlet hose and turn on the water supply tap. Check there are no deposits of rust inside the water pipe, if there are allow water to run from the supply tap for a few minutes. Disconnecting the dishwasher. When disconnecting the dishwasher it is important that tasks are carried out in the correct sequence. •switch off at the mains and remove the plug from the socket. •turn off the water supply. • disconnect drain and water inlet hose. •pull out the dishwasher, carefully, withdrawing hoses at the same time. Moving the appliance. Drain water from the dishwasher. Secure all loose parts. Only transport in an upright position. •If not kept upright during transport, any water remaining inside may seep into the control module and cause subsequent errors with programme functions. D ISHWASHE. Troubleshooting In the unlikely event that you have problems with your machine, the following guide will enable you to resolve many problems without having to call out a service engineer. Fault Area The Dishwasher Will Not Start Salt Refill Light Flashing/ Not Going Out When Salt Added Issue Possible Installation/Electrical Supply Fault (Particularly if the machine is being used for the first time) Cycle phase indicator lights flashing: - Has time delay been selected? Delay StartButton Salt refill light will flash if: - You are using the Machine for the first time Or - The salt level is low Cause/How to resolve… Check -Is the dishwasher plugged in and switched on? -Is there a power failure, check to see if other appliances working. -Check the fuse. -Is there a fault with the water supply/is the water supply tap turned on? -Is the water pressure supply sufficient? -Is the inlet hose kinked? -Is the door closed properly? If a delayed start has been selected then the cycle phase indicator light corresponding to the lenght of time delayed will flash. For example: Pre wash flashing - 3hr Delay Set Wash - 6hr Delay Set Rinse - 9hr Delay Set Drying -12hr delay Set Follow the instructions below to cancel:Step 1: Press the “Delay Start” Button until all light are out. Step 2: Select wash programme as normal. Please Note: The “Drying” light will also flash to indicate the end of a programme. (See “Cycle Phase Indicator Lights Flashing”below). The Salt refill light will flash when your dishwasher is switched on for the first time and again when the salt levels become low - follow the instructions on “Before Using Your Dishwasher” page on how to add salt to your dishwasher. Please Note: - The salt refill light will remain lit after the salt has been added for several consecutive cycles. - If you are using 3 in 1 tablets and do not add salt then the salt refill light will flash periodically for several consecutive cycle. - If 3 in 1 dishwasher tablets are used we still recommend that you add salt to prevent limescale deposits on your th. dishes. D ISHWASHE. Fault Area Issue Cause/How to resolve… Rinse Aid Light Flashing/ Not Going Out When Rinse Aid Added Leaking From Rear Of Machine Cycle Indicator Lights Flashing Rinse Aid light will flash if: - You are using the Machine for the first time. Or - The rinse aid level is low. Possible Incorrect Fitment of Water Inlet Hose The Rinse Aid light will flash when your dishwasher is switched on for the first time and again when the rinse aid levels become low - follow the instructions on “Before Using Your Dishwasher “ page on how to add rinse aid.. Please Note: -The rinse aid light will remain lit after the rinse aid has been added, and will continue to flash until the machine has completed the next full wash cycle (Note: The Fast & Prewash cycles are not full wash cycles). - If you are using 3 in 1 tablets (or 2 in 1) and do not add rinse aid then the rinse aid light will flash continuously. Check Is the water inlet hose connection secured at rear of machine (Fig1) and has filter washer (A) been fitted (Fig2)? Your dishwasher is designed so that if a fault occurs, an error message indicated by one or two wash cycle indicator lights flashing rapidly. In many cases you can rectify these errors by following instructions in this section. If however the errors indicated on your machine are not listed, you will need to contact your Service Centre for assistance. See “Key Contacts” on the back page of the instruction book.
