C Installing/ replacing batteries Important! • Only use Philips rechargeable shortened sleeve NiMH batteries with your headphones for charging. Note that other types of rechargeable or alkaline batteries cannot be charged with this system. DE F GH • Remarks : AAA alkaline batteries can be used to operate the headphones. Power on the transmitter Charging the headphones Important! • The energizing docking station does not transmit audio signal when charging is activated. • Before using the headphones for the first time, please ensure the batteries are fully charged for at least 4 hours. Audio Connection and adjusting ATT (Attenuation of audio input signal) Important! • Achieve a better volume level, please Set ATT to 0dB : Portable CD player, MP3 player or other devices with 3.5mm triport socket output Set ATT to -8dB : HiFi,TV, DVD player or other devices with RCA socket output • In case your audio source has a 6.3mm headphone output, use the supplied 3.5mm to 6.3mm stereo adapter plug. • The volume of the sound source must be sufficient, otherwise the transmitter automatically turns off. Power on/off Mute Important! • You can temporarily mute the audio source by keep pressing and holding the “Mute” button. Once the “Mute” button is released, audio will be back. Headphone fails to charge 1.1 No battery installed Refer to picture C to install or replace batteries. 1.2 Wrong battery orientation Reposition the batteries according to the polarity symbol. 1.3 No power supply to transmitter Refer to picture D to make sure the docking station is connected to the local mains power. 1.4 Alkaline battery or non-short sleeve battery is used Only use Philips’ rechargeable shortenedsleeve NiMH batteries for charging. 1.5 Charging pin of the docking station not in contact with the metal plate of the headphone Refer to picture E to dock the headphone in place, and make sure the CHARGE INDICATOR light on. 1.6 Wrong headphone orientation when placed onto the charging dock Reposition the headphone with correctorientation. 2. No sound/ distorted sound 2.1 Set up not yet completed Refer to possible causes from FAQ 1.1, 1.2 & 1.3. 2.2 Not set up properly Refer to picture F to ensure audio cable is connected to the AUDIO OUT of the device. 2.3 Battery power running low Refer to picture E to recharge the headphone. 2.4 Audio source not connected Refer to picture F to connect the audiosource. 2.5 Audio source is off Turn on your audio source. 2.6 Audio source level too low Adjust the volume level of audio device to higher and non-distorted level. If MP3 player or 3.5mm triport socket output is used, switch ATT to 0dB. 2.7 Audio source level too high Adjust the output level to lower and non-distorted level. If HiFi, DVD or RCA output is used, switch ATT to -8dB. 2.8 Volume level set too low Adjust the volume level of your audio source or headphone. Note: the volume is not adjustable for some of the audio source. 2.9 Receiver too far away from transmitter Move closer for reception.
