Note on the glass door of CD player The CD player cover of the CMT-ED1 is made of tempered glass. Under normal conditions, this tempered glass is more shock resistant and able to bear more weight than ordinary glass. This glass, however, may shatter if it receives a sharp blow or if it is scratched. To detach the speakers 1 Slide the speakers in the opposite direction of the arrows of the illustration in “Attach the speakers” (see step 2 -3 on this page.) 2 After detaching the speakers, set the speaker cords into the speaker cord groove at the bottom of the speaker. Otherwise, the speaker cord could be damaged. Groove Step 1: Hooking up the system (continued) To remove the AM antenna If noise is heard while listening to an AM station, remove the AM antenna from the rear panel and place the aerial outside the cabinet. 1 Remove the rear cover. (See step 1 on the page 4.) 2 Remove the AM antenna. Hook 3 Attach the rear cover. (See step 4 on the page 5.) You can hang the AM antenna on a wall. If noise is heard while listening to an FM station, remove the FM antenna from the rear panel and place the antenna outside the cabinet. To exchange the speaker net You can remove the speaker net drowing up to your side and exchange with the supplied extra net. Tip See wire dressing for the rear panel prior to install the rear cover. Inserting two AA (R6) batteries into the remote } } ] ] Tip With normal use, the batteries should last for about six months. When the remote no longer operates the system, replace both batteries with new ones. Note If you do not use the remote for a long period of time, remove the batteries to avoid possible damage from battery leakage. You can preset up to 30 stations, 20 for FM and 10 for AM. 3 Press TUNING/PLAY MODE on 1/u the remote repeatedly until (Power) “AUTO” appears. 4 Press TUNING +/– (or ­/± on the remote). The frequency indication changes and scanning stops when the system tunes in a station. “TUNED” and “ST” (for a2 stereo program) appears. 1 4,6 TUNED PGM MHz ST 5 Press MEMORY on the remote. The preset channel number flashes. 1/u (Power) 2 TUNED PGM MHz ST 4,6 6 Press TUNING +/– (or ­/± on the remote) to select the preset number you want. 3 5 7 TUNED PGM MHz ST 7 Press ENTER on the remote. The station is stored. 8 Repeat steps 4 through 7 to store other stations. To tune in a station with a weak signal Press TUNING/PLAY MODE on the remote repeatedly until “MANUAL” appears in step 3, then press TUNING +/– (or ­/±on the remote) to tune in the station.
