Never push objects of any kind through openings into this player as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product. Heat Do not subject the player to direct sunlight or heat sources such as heaters or open fire. Please ensure that ventilation openings are not blocked. Please ensure that ventilation slots are not blocked by newapapers,blankets or curtains to avoid overheating This player is not waterproof. Do not bring in contact with water. Clean only with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use cleaning agents containing alcohol, ammonia, benzene or abrasives. Please ensure that children do not put small parts into their mouth or swallow them. Take special care with the packing materials. Hearing Protection Your health means a lot to us. Please ensure that the volume is set in such a way, that hearing damage is impossible. Avoid high volume. Please also ensure reasonable volume if the player is used by children. MODEL K1260N2 KID LINE CASSETTE PLAYER WITH SING-A-LONG FUNCTION Do not obstruct the ventilation of the device. Make sure, that no curtains, newspapers, furniture or any other type of object are blocking the ventilation system of the apparatus. The ventilation system must be clear of objects at all times! Overheating may lead into serious damage of the device and reduce its performance and lifespan. Only use the appliance for its intended purpose. This device may only be used in housings and business premises. GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Keep the device away from water and moisture such as bathtubs, shower areas or even persons taking a bath! Such situations constitute a DANGER TO LIFE through electric shock. Only connect the device to a properly installed wall outlet. Ensure that the rated voltage corresponds with the mains power. When using external mains supply, ensure correct polarity and voltage. Always place the batteries in the correct direction (refer to the information in the battery compartment). Use the device in such way that ventilation openings and the unit are not covered. Never open the housing of the device. Incorrect repairs can constitute a considerable risk for the user. Should the device be damaged, in particular the mains supply cable, stop operating the device immediately and check with qualified technician for repair. DESCRIPTION OF UNIT 1. Cassette door 2. HOW TO INSERT BATTERIES The battery compartment is located on the back of the device. • Open the battery compartment (as indicated on the back of the device). • Insert 4 x size C batteries as shown inside the compartment (batteries are not included). • Pay attention to the battery polarity. • Attention!!! Incorrectly inserted batteries may damage the device. Note: Observe carefully the and poles of the batteries. If the batteries are not installed correctly the set will not work. If the sound becomes weak and unclear, the batteries may be exhausted. Replace all four batteries at the same time. Remove the batteries if the unit is not to be used for a longer period of time (a few weeks or more) to prevent battery leakage and possible damage to the unit. PRECAUTIONS FOR BATTERY USE • Do not mix old and new batteries. • Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (Nickel-Cadmium) batteries. • Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. • Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy before being charged (if removable). • Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision (if removable). • Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used. • Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity. • Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the toy. • The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited. USING THE DEVICE • Open the cassette door by pressing the eject button. • Insert a cassette with the side to be played facing right. • Close the cassette door. • Set the desired volume with the volume knob. • The following functions can be activated: EJECT button: Ejects the cassette. STOP button: Stops the playback. FAST FORWARD button: Fast forward search. PLAY button: Plays the cassette. • While a cassette is playing, slide the switch on the microphone to ON position. Now you can sing along while the music is playing. Your voice and the music are playing simultaneously through the loudspeakers. • Once the cassette is finished, press the STOP button. The player will stop and the device is switched off. Note: If the PLAY button does not latch when pressed, check to be sure the cassette is not at the end of the tape.
