The FWDM-1629 is designed expressly for service providers deploying DWDM networking equipment in metropolitan Ethernet and SAN networks. The fiber link budget has been enhanced to 30dB with an Avalanche Photo Diode (APD) receiver. In addition, digital diagnostic features are implemented as described in Finisar Application Note AN-2030, “Digital Diagnostic Monitoring Interface for Optical Transceivers”2.
