The unit can be turned back on by pressing the Power Button. Figure 2 Rev. A 6/05 3 THERMOSTAT: Pressing the ( ) or ( ) button allows you to set the desired temperature of the Heater. (Figure 3) 1. Press the ( ) to increase the desired set temperature or press the ( ) to decrease the desired set temperature. 2. When the air temperature reaches 2° above the set temperature, the Heater will shut off. 3. When the air temperature reaches 1° below the set temperature, the Heater will turn on. NOTE: It is normal for the Heater to cycle ON and OFF as it maintains the SET temperature. Figure 3 IONIZER: (Figure 4) The ionizer function on this Fan will operated within any speed mode. Press the Ionizer Button once to turn this function on and a second time to turn it off. The Fan must be ON for the ionizer to be functional. When the ionizer is turned on this will assist in the purification of the room air. Figure 4 LOUVER FUNCTION: (Figure 5) This Heater has a louver on the top front grill that allow for vertical adjustment of air flow. Slide the louver control up or down to adjust the air flow as desired. 6000ES Figure 5 Louver Function MODEL 6000 MODEL 6000 REMOTE CONTROL: (Figure 6) All the functions performed with the Remote Control work identically to the manual controls. (Figure 6) 1. Install the two “AAA” batteries supplied. 2. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries. Front View Back View of Remote of Remote Figure 6 If you lose your remote control, please call Customer Service to order a replacement at 1-800-233-0268, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST. SAFETY FEATURE 1. A thermal overload protector is built in to prevent overheating. 2. When an overheat temperature is reached, the Heater will be automatically shut off. It can only resume operation when the user resets the unit. To Reset Heater: 1. Unplug the Heater and wait 15 minutes for the Heater to cool down. 2. After the Heater has cooled down, plug the unit into a 120V~ electrical outlet and follow the operation instructions described in this manual. TROUBLE SHOOTING TIPS If your heater shuts off unexpectedly or fails to operate, one of the above-mentioned safety feature may have been activated to prevent overheating. 1. Be sure the power cord is plugged into a working electrical outlet. 2. Check your Thermostat setting. The Heater may be off because it has reached the desired temperature setting. If you have a problem that can not be resolve by the steps listed above, contact Technical Assistance at 800-233-0268, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8am and 5pm EST. MAINTENANCE WARNING: ALWAYS UNPLUG THE CORD BEFORE MOVING OR SERVICING. WARNING: DO NOT IMMERSE HEATER IN WATER. CLEANING: IMPORTANT! Clean the Heater grill and side intakes with the vacuum brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner. This will remove lint and dirt from the inside of the Heater. Clean the body of the Heater with a soft cloth. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TAKE APART THE HEATER. CAUTION: Do not use gasoline, benzine, thinner, harsh cleaners, etc., as they will damage the Heater. NEVER use ALCOHOL OR SOLVENTS. SERVICING: All other servicing, with the exception of general user-maintenance, should be performed by an authorized service representative. Call 1-800-233-0268, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8am and 5pm EST for the location of your nearest service center. STORAGE: Store the Heater with these instructions in the original carton in a cool, dry place. LIMITED WARRANTY SHOULD ACCESSORY PARTS BE NEEDED, CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER FOR IN-WARRANTY REPLACEMENT PARTS. A COPY OF PROOF-OF-PURCHASE MUST BE INCLUDED ALONG WITH THE TYPE AND STYLE, WHICH IS LOCATED ON THE BOTTOM OF YOUR APPLIANCE. This product is warranted for three years from the date of purchase against defects in workmanship and/or materials. At our option, parts that prove to be defective will either be repaired or replaced or the whole product will be replaced. Should electrical or mechanical repair become necessary during the warranty period, send your complete product, postage or freight pre-paid to the nearest service center. Call the number below for the service station nearest you. Should a part need replacement, you must give us the type and style of your appliance. You will find this at the bottom of the appliance. In either case, a copy of your proof-of-purchase is requested. This warranty does not apply if the damage occurs because of accident, improper handling or operation, shipping damage, abuse, misuse, unauthorized repairs made or attempted, of the use of the product for commercial service.
