TIPS u4 Carefully read this Owner’s Booklet and other instructional material provided with your blood glucose monitoring system and test supplies. u4 Clean your Meter regularly (at lease once a week) by following the instructions in Chapter 8, Cleaning and Maintaining the Meter. u4 Use the Check daily to check the Meter, and use Control Solution periodically to test system and your procedure. (See Chapter 3, Checking the System.) u4 Periodically review your use of the Meter with your healthcare professional. u4 Never make any significant changes to your medication program without consulting your doctor or other healthcare professional. u4 If the way you not consistent blood glucose monitoring results, contact your physician or healthcare professional immediately. u4 Do not store ONE TOUCH ® Test Strips outside of the vial. GETTING Before you read about the test procedure, please study this diagram to become familiar with the various parts of your ONE TOUCH ® II Meter. Memory Code Button Battery Compartment (on back) Display Test Strip Holder On/Off Button Data Port Test Area with Protective Coating • 7• ON/OFF button turns the Meter and off. DISPLAY. This is where you read your test results and the simple messages that help guide you through the test procedure. BATTERY COMPARTMENT. Holds one J-size battery. The battery is already installed in your Meter. (Replacement instructions are provided in Chapter 8, Cleaning and Maintaining the Meter. ) MEMORY BUTTON M). LANGUAGE The ONE TOUCH II Meter can display nineteen languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish, German, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Polish, Hungarian, Turkish, Czech, Greek, Russian, Japanese, and a Symbolic language. Your Meter is set at the factory in English. By using the Code Button and Memory Button, you can set the Meter in the language of your choice. (See Chapter 9, Setting Date, Time, and Other Special Functions, for instructions.) The ONE TOUCH II Meter can display units either in mmol/L or mg/dL. To select the unit measurement of your choice, see Chapter 9, Setting Date, Time, and Other Special Functions for instructions.
