4. Balance the blade as shown in Figure 29. Center the blade’s hole on a nail lubricated with a drop of oil. A balanced blade will remain level. 5. Reinstall each blade with the tabs pointing up toward deck as shown in Figure 30. Secure with a bolt and flat washer and torque bolts to 70 ft.lbs. (94 N.m.). Figure 28. Careless or improper handling of blades may result in serious injury.For your personal safety, blade mounting bolts must each be installed with a flat washer then securely tightened. Flat Washer 37 Maintenance Troubleshooting, Adjustment & Service TROUBLESHOOTING While normal care and regular maintenance will extend the life of your equipment, prolonged or constant use may eventually require that service be performed to allow it to continue operating properly. The troubleshooting guide below lists the most common problems, their causes and remedies. See the information on the following pages for instructions on how to perform most of these minor adjustments and service repairs yourself. If you prefer, all of these procedures can be performed for you by your local authorized dealer. TROUBLESHOOTING THE RIDER PROBLEM CAUSE WARNING To avoid serious injury, perform maintenance on the tractor or mower only when the engine is stopped and the parking brake engaged. Always remove the ignition key to prevent accidental starting of the engine. REMEDY Engine will not turnover or start. 1. Parking brake not engaged. 1. Engage parking brake. 2. PTO (electric clutch) switch 2. Place in OFF position. in ON position. 3. Out of fuel. 3. If engine is hot, allow it to cool, then refill the fuel tanks. Prime the fuel system. 4.
