High-performance manganese batteries are not recommended. 1 Open the battery-chamber lid (q). 2 Insert the batteries in the orientation shown and close the battery-chamber lid (w). ¦ Replacing Batteries Replace both batteries at the same time, using fresh batteries of the same brand and type. Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of diff erent types or makes. Bring spare batteries when travelling and on other occasions when replacement batteries may be diffi cult to fi nd. Attaching the Speedlight (Figure 3) 1 Turn off the camera and SB-N7 and remove the camera multi accessory port cover. 2 Remove the mounting foot cover from the SB-N7 (q). 3 Insert the mounting foot into the multi accessory port (w), sliding it in until it clicks into place and the latch release slides down to latch the Speedlight to the camera. Removing the Speedlight (Figure 4) 1 Turn off the camera and SB-N7. 2 Keeping the latch release in the unlocked position (q), remove the SB-N7 from the camera multi accessory port (w). Do not use force. Replace the mounting foot cover when the SB-N7 is not in use. Using the Wide-Flash Adapter (Figure 5) Attaching the wide-fl ash adapter increases the angle of illumination to cover the fi eld of view of a 6.7 mm lens. 1 Align the wide-fl ash adapter with the fl ash head (q). 2 Attach the wide-fl ash adapter, keeping the projections on the inside of the adapter aligned with slots “A” on the fl ash head (w). When not in use, the wide-fl ash adapter can be stored on the fl ash head by inserting the projections on the inside of the adapter into slots “B” (e).
