These lamps light and flash to indicate the current operational status of the camera. Operation Lamp AF assist/self-timer Lamp * There are three lamp flash patterns. Pattern 1 flashes once per second, Pattern 2 flashes twice per second, and Pattern 3 flashes four times per second. The table below explains what each flash pattern indicates. ¦ REC Mode Operation Lamp AF Assist/ Self-timer Lamp Meaning Green Red Amber Red Lit Operational (Power on, recording enabled) Pattern 3 Flash is charging. Lit Flash charging is complete. Lit Auto Focus operation was successful. Pattern 3 Cannot Auto Focus. Lit LCD is off or in sleep state. Pattern 2 Image is being stored.
