OutdoorAntennaGrounding Ifanoutsideantenna or cable system is connected to the video product, be sure the antenna or cable systemisgrounded so as toprovidesome protection against voltage surges and builtup static charges. ANSI/NFPA No. 70-1984 providesinformation with respect to proper groundingof the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire toan antenna-discharge unit, connection to grounding electrodes, and requirements for the grounding electrode. Power LinesAn outside antenna system should not belocated inthe vicinityof overhead power lines, other electric light or power circuits, or where itcan fall into such power linesor circuits. When installing an outside antenna system, extreme care should betakento keepfromtouching or approaching such power lines or circuits, ascontact with them might be fatal. Installing anoutdoor antennacan be hazardous and should beleft to aprofessional antenna installer.
