Please see above to determine if the program is in stereo or second audio. • If SAP is ON but the program is notbroadcast in Second Audio, you willhear and record the program innormal audio. • Programs are recorded in both Hi-Fistereo sound and in monaural (singlechannel) sound. • The audio level of a tape recorded inHi-Fi stereo will differ from the audio level of a tape not recorded in Hi-Fi stereo. • You can change to MONO if you wantmonaural audio playback. Follow steps1-2, then press K or L to select MONO at step 3. Press DISC/VCRMENU. HIFI will disappear from thestatus display. • If you play non-Hi-Fi tapes whileAUDIO OUT is set to HIFI, HIFI will not appear on the status display.Thetape will play in monaural sound. For example, the menu may offer choices for subtitle languages, director’s commentary, or Sound track playback.To use the DVD menu and select playback features, follow these steps. 1 1 Press DVD to put the DVD/VCR in DVD mode. DVD light will appear on the front of the DVD/VCR. 2 2 Press DISC/VCR MENU. The DVD’s main Disc menu will appear. 3 3 Press K, L, s, or B to select an item, then press OK. Continue this process to set up all the features you want. Using the Title Menu Some DVDs have a Title Menu, which lists the Titles available on the DVD. Use the Title Menu to play a specific Title. 1 1 Press DVD to put the DVD/VCR in DVD mode. DVD light will appear on the front of the DVD/VCR. 2 2 Press TITLE. The Title menu will appear. If a Title menu is not available, the “X” may appear on the TV screen. Or, if the DVD only has a main Disc menu as described above, it may appear when you press TITLE. 3 3 Press K, L, s, or B to select a Title, then press OK. Playback will begin at the Title you selected. Playback Control (PBC) Function When playing a Video CD with PBC (Playback Control), you can use interactive menu (e.g., playlists) on the TV screen. Refer to instructions accompanying your Video CD for more details on PBC. Some operations cannot be performed unless the PBC function is cancelled temporarily. Cancelling and calling back the PBC function 1 1 While playback is stopped, press the Number Buttons to enter a Track number. PBC function is now cancelled and the playback of the Video CD will start. 2 2 To call back the PBC function, press STOP C twice, then press PLAY B. The title menu will appear on the TV screen. DVD light will appear on the front of the DVD/VCR. 2 2 During playback, press SEARCH g or h on the remote control. . During DVD playback, pressing SEARCH g or h will forward or reverse the picture at approximately 2, 8, 20, 50, or 100 times the normal speed.The speed may vary depending on the Disc. g 1, g 2, g 3, g 4, or 1 g 5 will appear briefly on the TV screen to indicate forward searching. Or, h 1, h 2, h 3,h 4, or h 5 will indicate reverse searching. For DVD playback, the sound will be mute during the 2 search. . For Video CDs,Audio CDs,MP3 or Windows MediaTM Audio playback, pressing SEARCH g or h will 3 forward or reverse the picture or sound at approximately 2,8,or 30 times the normal speed.The speed may vary depending on the Disc. g 1, g 2, or g 3 will appear briefly on the TV screen to indicate forward searching. Or, h 1, h 2, or h 3 will indicate reverse searching. For MP3,Windows MediaTMAudio or Audio CD playback, the sound will be intermittent during the search.
