Be sure to aim the remote control directly at the infrared remote sensor during operation. The sensor may not be able to receive signals properly if the sensor is covered, if there is a large object between the remote control and the sensor, or if it is exposed to direct sunlight or a strong artificial light (e.g., fluorescent or strobe lights). In this case, change the direction of the light or reposition the unit to avoid direct lighting. 12 CONNECTIONS Audio & Video Connections AV Out - Output the AV Signal a). Connect the player to TV or the moniter by the RCA cable. b). Slide the AV switch to OUT position. AV IN - Input the AV Signal a). Connect the player to the external input source by the RCA cable. b). Slide the AV switch to AV IN. TV / Moniter / External AV Source Audio/Video cable NOTE: 1. Refer to the owner’s manual of your TV as well. 2. Before connecting the DVD player to a TV set, be sure to turn the power off and unplug both units from the wall outlet. Audio Connections 1 The player is equipped with composite AV outputs at the rear panel (yellow/red/white). Your TV will require at least one set of AV inputs. The supplied AV patch cord will connect your player's AV output to your TVs inputs. 2 The player is equipped with 2-channel stereo or 5.1-channel surround sound outputs on the rear panel. For stereo or surround sound, a Stereo TV or Surround AV receiver is necessary. For Mono TVs, you can connect either the Left or Right stereo audio output to the Mono TV’s audio input. 3 Depending on the brand of your TV, you may need to press a button labeled “Line’, "Input”, or "Video/TV” in order to set your TV to the correct input line. This will switch the TV from broadcast reception mode to on of the AV input signals. (Some TVs may have more than on AV input line. 13 CONNECTIONS Power Connections • Connecting to the wall outlet Caution: • Do not connect the power plug to a power outlet other than that which is indicated here and on the label as this may result in the risk of fire or electric shock. • Do not handle the power plug with wet hands. Doing so may cause electric shock. • Only use AC adapters of the type specified here. Failure to do so may case a fire or damage the player. • Using the car plug Disconnect this car power adaptor when not in use. Not for use in 24V vehicles. To DC 9V in Jack Using the Built- in battery The unit has a built-in rechargeable battery (lithium-polymer). Charge the built-in battery before using it for the first time. It takes about 4 hours to fully charge the battery. • Make sure that the power switch is set to the Off position before charging. • To charge the built-in battery, just connect the AC adapter to the player and a specified wall outlet. See above. (The Battery Charge indicator will light red while it is charging; it will go off when the battery is fully charged.) • The built-in rechargeable battery can be used for approximately 300 charge-cycles without any noticeable change in performance. • When the built-in battery power is low, the low battery icon will flash on the upper right corner of the screen for a while, and then the player will turn itself off automatically. Note: • Use the specified charger. • Never dispose of in fire or heat up. • Do not use in high temperature or near heat sources. • Do not open the cover. • Refer servicing only to qualified service personnel. • To get the longest service life of the built-in battery, charge at indoor-temperature. 14 CONNECTIONS Headphone Connection Be sure that your unit is at low volume level before connecting the headphones. Increase the volume gradually for your comfortable listening. CAUTION: Hearing experts advise against the constant use of personal stereos played at high volume. Constant high volume use can lead to hearing loss. If you experience ringing in the ears or hearing loss, discontinue use and seek medical advise.
