Do not leave the Charger unattended while charging. Charge the Battery on a inflammable surface. Move the Forward/Reverse Switch of 2. the Drill to its center, locked position. Push the Battery Release Button on 3. top of the Battery down, and slide the Battery off the handle of the Drill. Chuck (4) Torque SelectorLevel (18) Battery Release Button Slide the Battery onto the Charger. 4. Plug the Charger into a grounded120 volt electrical outlet. Verify that the charging indicator light 5. comes on. If it does not come on, check the power cord connection. Charge the Battery until the charging indicator light turns off. Note: While charging, the Battery and Charger may become warm to the touch. This is normal, and does not indicate a problem. Once the Battery is charged, discon6. nect the Charger from the electrical outlet and the Charger from the Battery Pack. Connect the Battery to the base of the Drill. Installing a Drill Bit Turn the Chuck (4) of the Drill coun1. terclockwise until the jaws are open wide enough to receive a 3/8” bit. Place the bit of a driver or drill (not 2. included) into the jaws, and turn the Chuck clockwise until secure. Operating Instructions Read the entire Important Safety Information section at the beginning of this manual including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product. To prevent serious injury from accidental operation: Turn the Forward/Reverse Switch of the tool to its center, locked position and remove the Battery before performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning procedures. Work Piece and Work Area Set Up Designate a work area that is clean 1. and well-lit. The work area must not allow access by children or pets to prevent injury and distraction. Secure loose work pieces using a 2. vise or clamps (not included) to prevent movement while working. There must not be hazardous ob3. jects, such as utility lines or foreign objects, nearby that will present a hazard while working. 4. Warning, to prevent serious injury; verify that the surface has no hidden utility lines before drilling or driving screws. General Operating Instructions Mark the position of the hole to be 1. drilled with a center punch to prevent the Drill from “walking”. Attach the Battery to the bottom of 2. the handle, it will click when it locks into place. Move the Forward/Reverse Switch to 3. the desired position. Turn the Torque Selector to the cor4. rect torque setting. Do not change the torque setting while the drill is moving. Pull the Trigger to start the Drill. Al5. low the drill to come up to full speed, before, applying it to the work surface. Hold the Drill firmly with both hands, 6. as torque will cause the tool to twist. When drilling in light gauge metal or 7. wood, place a wooden block behind the material to prevent damage to the workpiece. Lubricate the Drill Bit with cutting oil when drilling iron or steel. Use a coolant when drilling nonferrous metals such as copper, brass, or aluminum. To drill holes parallel to the ground, 8. make sure the bubble stays between the lines on the Level. To determine the battery charge level, 9. hold down the Battery Charge Indicator. There are three lights (red, yellow, green), if all three are lit the battery is fully charged. If only the red and yellow lights are illuminated, the battery is partially charged. If only the red light is illuminated, then the battery will need to be charged soon. LevelBattery Charge Indicator When the hole is drilled, remove the 10. drill bit from the hole while the Drill is still running. This prevents the Drill Bit from getting caught in the hole and causing damage. To prevent accidents, turn off the tool 11. and disconnect its power supply after use. Clean, then store the tool indoors out of children’s reach. Maintenance And Servicing Procedures not specifically explained in this manual must be performed only by a qualified technician. To prevent serious injury from accidental operation: Turn the Power Switch of the tool to its “OFF” position and unplug the tool from its electrical outlet before performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning procedures. To prevent serious injury from tool failure: Do not use damaged equipment. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the problem corrected before further use. Cleaning, Maintenance, and Lubrication BEFORE EACH USE,1. inspect the general condition of the tool. Check for loose screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts, damaged electrical wiring, and any other condition that may affect its safe operation. After Use,2. clean external surfaces of the tool with clean cloth. 3. WARNING! If the supply cord of this power tool is damaged, it must be replaced only by a qualified service technician.
