9. Do not carry this unit by cord or use cord as handle. 10. Never operate this unit if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, or if it has been dropped into water, or if the unit’s power supply cord or plug is damaged or dropped into water. If the unit’s power supply cord or plug is damaged, do not attempt to fix it yourself. 11. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble or attempt to repair the unit. Incorrect repair can cause risk of electric shock or injury to persons when unit is used. 12. Do not operate in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes. DANGER To reduce the risk of electric shock, burns, fire or injury: 1. Always unplug the battery charger from the electrical outlet immediately after using. 2. Do not use while bathing or in a shower. 3. Do not place or store unit where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink. 4. Do not place or drop into water or other liquid. 5. Do not reach for unit that has fallen into water. Unplug it immediately. 6. Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled onto the unit. 2 CAUTION • TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT REMOVE COVER OR BACK. THERE ARE NO USER-SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE. • TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS UNIT TO WATER OR MOISTURE. The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated dangerous voltage within the unit’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock. The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the unit. 3 PARTS WINE ChIllER OPERATION To Charge Battery 1. Pull tab and remove battery cover located on bottom of wine chiller. Insert battery pack into battery compartment. Connect battery jack with battery connector located in battery compartment. (See above #7.) Replace cover and secure tab. 2. Plug battery adapter into receptacle located in back of wine chiller. (See above #8.) 4 3. Plug electric cord into electrical outlet. 4. The battery will automatically begin charging. 5. Full battery charge will take approximately 15 hours. 6. Once charged, the battery will last for 80 minutes of use. NOTE: While battery is charging the charging indicator located on the front of the unit will be lighted red to indicate charging in process. The charging indicator will remain red as long as adapter is plugged into the electric outlet. BATTERy CAUTION To reduce the risk of fire or injury to persons, read and follow these instructions. 1. Use only the following type and size batteries in the cordless wine chiller: Self-contained 3-cell NickelMetal- Hydride rechargeable battery supply AA 3.6V, 800mAh. 2. Do not dispose of the battery/batteries in a fire. The cell(s) may explode. Check with local codes for possible special disposal instruction. 3. Do not open or mutilate the battery/batteries. Released electrolyte is corrosive and may cause damage to the eyes or skin. It may be toxic if swallowed. 4. Handle batteries carefully in order to prevent shortcircuiting the battery with conducting material such as rings, bracelets and keys. The battery or conductor may overheat and cause burns. 5. Charge the battery/batteries provided with or identified for use with this product only in accordance with the instructions and limitations specified in this manual. 6. Do not mix old and new batteries in this product (applies to products employing more than one user-replaceable second battery). 5 7. Do not mix batteries of different sizes or from different manufacturers in this product (applies to products employing more than one user-replaceable secondary battery). 8. Do not attempt to recharge the battery/batteries provided with or identified for use with this product. The batteries may leak corrosive electrolyte or explode. 9. Do not attempt to rejuvenate the battery/batteries provided with or identified for use with this product by heating them. Sudden release of the battery electrolyte may occur causing burns or irritation to the eyes or skin. 10. When inserting batteries into this product, the proper polarity or direction must be observed. Reverse insertion of batteries can cause reverse charging, and that may result in leakage or explosions (applies to product employing more than one separately replaceable primary battery). 11. Remove the batteries from this product if the product will not be used for a long period of time (several months or more), since during this time the battery could leak into the product. 12. Discard “dead” batteries as soon as possible since dead batteries are more likely to leak into a product. 13.
