The SP-18 and SP-18S described in this manual should not be suspended or flown. These models are also not intended for fixed installations outdoors or in high-moisture areas. Moisture can damage the subwoofer and can cause corrosion of electrical contacts. Keep speakers out of extended or intense direct sunlight. The subwoofer spider and surround will prematurely dry out and finished surfaces may fade and be damaged by long-term exposure to intense ultra-violet light. B-52 Pro-Audio speakers, especially the SP-18, can produce high-levels of energy. When placed on slippery surfaces such as polished wood or smooth tiles, the speaker may move because of its intense bass output. Precautions should be taken to ensure the subwoofer does not fall off a stage or raised surface . The SP-18 models include a pole-mounting cup to allow mounting of a full-range speaker above the subwoofer. When installing a pole to mount a full-range speaker above the SP-18, be sure to observe the follow precautions: . Check the pole’s specifications to be certain that it is designed to support the weight on the speaker. Observe all safety precautions specified by the stand’s/pole’s manufacturer. .
