For details on connections, refer to the operating manual of the “WALKMAN” or the USB device as well. When the device is connected, “Reading” appears, followed by the volume label. If two portable devices are connected to the WM-PORT and the (USB) port at the same time, the device connected to the WM-PORT takes priority. If you want to select the device connected to the (USB) port, disconnect the device from the WM-PORT. Notes . Do not connect the “WALKMAN” to the unit while the “WALKMAN” is updating its database. . It may take a while for the unit to recognize the “WALKMAN” or the USB device. Connecting a digital music player to the DMPORT You can listen to or record playback sound from an optional digital music player (such as a portable audio player, etc.) that is compatible to DMPORT connection. Connect the DIGITAL MEDIA PORT adapter (optional) to the unit and the digital music player. To DMPORTDIGITAL MEDIA PORT adapter (optional) Digital music player 1 Press ... (power) to turn off the unit. 2 Connect the DIGITAL MEDIA PORT adapter (optional) to the DMPORT on the unit and to the external digital music player (optional). 3 Press ... Depending on the type of DIGITAL MEDIA PORT adapter, you may be able to operate the connected digital music player using either the buttons on the remote or the unit. . When using a DIGITAL MEDIA PORT adapter that has video output function, connect the adapter directly to the TV. . Do not connect or disconnect the DIGITAL MEDIA PORT adapter to/from the DMPORT while the unit is on. Connecting an external component (AUDIO IN) You can listen to or record playback sound from an external component (such as a cassette deck) connected to the AUDIO IN jack on the front of the unit. Use an audio connecting cable (optional) to connect the AUDIO IN jack on the unit to the audio out jack on the external component. Make sure the audio connecting cord is firmly inserted into both jacks. If not, noise may be generated in the sound output. Setting the play mode While the unit is stopped and the respective function is selected, press PLAY MODE repeatedly. (.: Factory setting) *1 When playing a CD-DA disc, “Folder Continue” operates in the same way as normal “Continue” play, and “Folder Shuffle” operates in the same way as normal “Shuffle” play. *2 “Album Continue” and “Album Shuffle” appear when playing the HDD. “Folder Continue” and “Folder Shuffle” appear when playing an MP3 disc, a “WALKMAN, or a USB device.
